Toastmaster
On September 9th right after school the first Toastmaster session will commence. Toastmasters is a national speech program that is well known in the business world. During this 8-9 week program you pick up on public speech skills, quick on-your-toes thinking, and essential speaking tips. Toastmasters is led by Colonel Landing in room 166. The requirements to join are simple: $10 to Coronel Landing, Emily Banke, Or Ryan Palmer by the 4th. If you cannot join this season, don’t fret! Toastmasters has a Fall and Spring season here at Mascoutah and all it takes to graduate is 8 to 9 meetings for 2 hours every other Tuesday. Ryan Palmer says that the reasons are clear as to why you should join, “Toastmasters helps builds your public speaking abilities, you use speech every day, and you have to speech in classes, so at least you’ll be able to do it well. However, it’s not just a class, all the people, support, and fun activities are what truly keep me coming back.” Turn in your money by September 4th, and you too can enjoy the benefits of Toastmasters.
