Considering College? Consult YOUR teachers!

College: a continuation of higher education in order to achieve a degree in a prefered area of study. MHS students and seniors across America are going through the strenuous process of applying for college, while the application process is not too difficult deciding where to go is. With over 300 colleges alone in Illinois there are endless amounts of opportunities and options while options are good it often complicates the decision making process. But we have resources we sometimes overlook, everyday we sit in their class and let them instill their knowledge of subjects onto us enriching our minds. but we do not usually use ask them about their college experience, our talented teaching staff went to a variety of accomplished universities; curious about how they got to be such fantastic teachers we gathered information on where they attended college. The top rated colleges among staff was SIUE with the largest attending population with a large campus and many distinguished degrees its no wonder this was the place of enrichment for our staff. McKendree came second with followed by University of Illinois, SIUC, and Eastern Illinois all notable universities. Though all of those universities are within the state we had a numerous variety attend out of state some even exotic locations. From University of Nebraska, all the way to United States Air Force Academy there are teachers who went all over to earn their teaching credentials. Mr. Eachus attended the University of Hawaii and earned a bachelor of Awesomeness as he explains, and any students who have taken his classes can atest to that awesomness. Before you begin looking at colleges establish what you are looking for in a school, whether it be area of study, campus life, athletics, or Greek life be sure visit the campuses and find the best fit for you! The decision on where you go to college will make an impact on your future and life beyond high school and although that seems daunting all Mascoutah students have the tools they need in order to succeed use the resources available to you both in the classroom and out and best of luck to the class of 2015 and all future seniors!
