Homecoming 2014 Preview!

Homecoming week is upon us and with a larger than life theme of a night in Vegas, I am willing to bet that this will be the best homecoming week thus far. For the first time in the new high school we have five days to celebrate homecoming! The week kicks off with career day where students are encouraged to dress in uniforms that interests them. Tuesday MHS students take a look around the world with class distinction all grades have exotic locations! Freshmen represent the arctic tundra while sophomores break out their tropical clothes for South America and Juniors have something close to all of our hearts..Merica’! Seniors take off on a wild safari dressing as explorers and animals who knows what will be roaming the hallways! Wednesday is the traditional group day where friends from all grades come together to create unique groups or pairs. Thursday is non-other than throwback thursday where students take it back as far as their imagination can take them! The final day of the week is dedicated to our schools spectacular spirit and is purple and white day. Not only does homecoming week include the fun dress up days but there is also activities throughout the whole week to look forward to. Tuesday the faculty face off against the JV football team and following that the Powder Puff game will commence. Juniors take on the seniors to see if they
can win the glorious pink bedazzled helmet trophy! Only time will tell, but the cheer boys will be there cheering both grades to victory! On wednesday evening, the parade will take place after school at 6:30 and this year it travels down a new route, be sure to check out the Mascoutah Homepage to find the direct coordinates. Immediately following the parade the bonfire will take place back by the baseball fields with music and food available for purchase theres no reason not to get fired up! And on spirit day we all come together at the assembly to get pumped up for the football game later that night where the fearsome Indians will take on the Jerseyville Panthers! Finally the day the whole weeks builds up to is the homecoming dance where students and faculty dress to impress and dance the night away! Homecoming is approaching quickly so be sure to plan your outfits and purchase your tickets and get ready to be swept away in the dazzling show Mascoutah puts on!
