Homecoming Week: Career Day
By Kalli Morris
Homecoming week kicked off with career day and Mascoutah showed up to do work! Students were encouraged to dress as a career that interests them and we had everything from librarians to Duck Dynasty character! While there was a variety of careers displayed there seemed to be an emphasis on dressing up as some of Mascoutah’s very own celebrities. We had doubles come in the form of Mr. Parks by Blake Albright, Mr. Goode by Anika Steiger, and a Mr. Graff by his very own son, Andy Graff. Blake Albright actually won for his Freshmen class in his very own representation of Mr. Parks, and Kamyrn Voypick walked her way to victory as a dog walker! The junior winners Kami Vonderlinden, and Samantha Davis were baristas and ‘served’ their junior class Starbucks before their classmates headed off to a hard day’s work. Senior, Kalli Morris was awarded as overall winner for her very own creation of a life size book where she was the author. But as students arrived to their not regular Monday they saw a whole new side of their peers, everything from business executives to pizza market delivery girls that actually brought in pizza! And there wasn't a shortage of medical-personnel the school sparkled with helpful nurses and resourceful lifeguards all playing their role to the tee. Even though it was a Monday, MHS students showed up for work highlighting their talented imagination and creation. From work we take a vacation around the world to see class distinction day, be sure to grab your passport, who knows what the rest of the week will have in store!
