Group Day at Mascoutah
By Jayde Eubanks
Day three of homecoming week welcomed a variety of famous groups and pairs. The four group winners were lufa girls, mariachi band, lego men, and roller coaster girls. The lufa girls, along with their bar of Dove soap were the only underclassmen group to win among the four groups. As stated by Mackenzie Schuessler, a member of the roller coaster girls, “ We chose the costume because it’s awesome. We spent 13 hours making them and went through tons of spray paint.” As it is clearly a complex costume, the student body could only be fascinated with the hard work put into putting it together. The roller coaster girls won the costume contest over all.
Other than the winners, there were many alternative ideas executed in each grade.A group of sophomores mourned the end of Shark Week back in August by dressing up as Shark Week, complete with ripped clothes, blood, and the days of the week printed on the front of their t-shirts. The junior class had an extremely large and impressive group consisting of beanie babies along with the heart shaped tag to identify them. There were cheetahs, monkeys, zebras, and so much more! Lastly, a team of seniors were diagnosed with “senioritis” and could not get out of bed. This group dressed in pajamas and laid themselves on the floor as if in a deep sleep. But it’s not just the seniors who can’t get out of bed. Group day was incredibly entertaining and many people participated in the action. Let’s finish the week with strong school spirit!
