Homecoming Bonfire
By Myka Murphy
Bonfires are always a lot of fun, but add all of your students and school faculty members and the fun doubles. Here at Mascoutah our second annual homecoming bonfire was held on Wednesday September 4, 2014, and it was a blast. The students took part in the Cupid shuffle, the cha-cha slide, and an inspirational speech from coach Battas and his team. The bonfire is an amazing way to raise the spirit of the students and the team and it really sets the mood for the homecoming game. For that night at the very least, our town really lives by its motto, “One team, One tribe, One family.” By the end of the night, the students and teachers were exhausted from the fun night of dancing and sitting by the warm fire. If we didn’t see you there this year, we hope to see you next year.
