Powder Puff

Imagine two entire teams of girls playing football and two cheer squads made up entirely of boys. Well once a year here at Mascoutah, that’s exactly what happens. The Powder-puff football game is an exciting game where the Junior and Senior girls go head-to-head for the win. This year the Juniors took home the money. “I’m proud of the girls. They worked hard and left it all on the field”, states Senior coach Miller. While the Seniors lost, they were nothing but good sports. Mrs. Benner said, “I thought it was a great game and I thought the teams played really well. Our team was very cohesive and we had great team work and passion for the game. I feel like we had a slow first half, but we kicked it into gear second half and if we had a little more time, we would have done wonders. ”The Juniors and their coaches were incredibly proud, and rightfully so. “They played a hard game against a really fast Senior team but they kept their hearts and heads in the game and they continued to play their hardest” states Mrs. Etter, One of the coaches for the Junior team. Mrs. Emrick, the other Junior coach said, “I feel all of the girls played with their hearts, played their hearts out, and did their very best.” Congradulations on the win class of 2016!
