Purple and White Day

Three Cheers to the Purple and White
Sadly, Friday was the last day of homecoming week, but what better way to celebrate it other than wearing the school colors, purple and white? Many students participated in displaying their school spirit and some even went to extremes to show their love of Mascoutah High School. I approached Ashley Rejniak to take her picture as she was completely covered in head to toe with the school colors. Her outfit consisted of a purple cape, furry leg warmers, and a tambourine, which she wore on a string around her neck. I could only be fascinated with her incredible school spirit and told her of everyone's attempts to out dress her as fan of the week. She replied with, "I'd like to see them try." Nothing but a little healthy competition. I also saw hundreds of warrior painted faces, homemade purple tutus, and multiple indian chiefs strolling through the halls, but it wasn’t until the pep assembly when I realized just how many students had worn purple and white. This may have been one of the biggest turnouts Mascoutah has witnessed in years and there was absolute joy in seeing how many people took pride in wearing the school colors. Friday was a total success and we hope to see students participate just as much as they had last week throughout the school year. Thank you students and faculty for making this a homecoming week to remember.
