Art Club Takes on the Art Fair
On September 6th, the art club visited the Clayton and Schaeffley art fairs in St. Louis. Students made hats, origami, and other craft items and viewed artworks from artists all over the country. The Clayton Art Fair is one of the biggest and most prestigious art fairs in the country. Our students, braved the rain in the morning and the sun in the afternoon. They enjoyed talking to the artists and were inspired to try some new techniques. They also were able to take a picture with Captain Jack Sparrow.
Kiara Stewart and Kaitlyn Whittom will have artwork on display at SWIC from October 6 until October 20th as part of their Fortnight Show series, where local high school students are given an opportunity to display their work at the college. If possible, go and view their work to support our local talent!
This year's Fall Play will be FRANKENSTEIN by Alden Nowlan and Walter Learning. Will Knowles and Ian Wininger will be starring as the creature and the mad scientist that creates him. This show is student directed by Taylor Kelly. This production is sure to shock and surprise the audience with a great scary story and amazing special effects. This is one to be sure not to miss. Tell your friends and family. Show times are 7:00 on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th. Ticket prices are $3 for students and $5 for adults.
