The Future of the PBIS Craft Fair
Kate Rosenstengel
On October 18th and 19th, Mascoutah High School hosted the PBIS Craft Fair. Thirty-four local artists sold their creations at the fair. Among the crafts offered were jewelry, decor, soaps, woodcraft items, and wreaths. The PBIS profit, which came from vendors renting booths in the fair, goes to future PBIS school activities. Thus, this event raised the money responsible for Mascoutah’s Got Talent, the school carnival, and other exciting school-wide activities.
Mrs. Emrick expressed mild discontentment over the buyer turnout at the fair. She said, “We had more people come this year than last year, but there still was not very much traffic there”. However, PBIS has plans to change this in the future. Mrs. Emrick, Mr. Junker, and the rest of the PBIS team have a vision for the future of the PBIS Craft Fair. Next year, they plan to create a student oriented event. Along with the fair, PBIS envisions an accompanying Fall Festival or Chili Cook-off. With this idea, students and teachers could unite in celebrating fall and funding a year of fun-filled PBIS activities.
