Post Season Golf

Let’s swing on over to the boy’s golf team as they have had an exciting season. “We had an excellent season. Everyone improved and we finished with an 18-3 record (18 wins and 3 losses) and we won 2 tournaments and placed 3rd in 2 more. Our team constantly improved their scores. More people began to elevate their game to contribute to the overall scores,” States Coach Hinkle of his boy’s golf team, “I’m just so proud of the good character they all have and how they all get along and support one another. The team’s chemistry is just so pure and unique. The boys all tried their hardest because they know that even though it is an individual’s game, their scores are grouped together.” Later, when speaking to sophomore Alex Gorman, one of the 3 golfers going to regionals to sectionals, said, “This season has been really good. We all have accomplished a lot and our skills certainly grew. We have so much potential for next year’s team. All of my team had such amazing character and constantly improved their scores. 5of the 6 players were all conference plus, we won at conference by 12 strokes.” All in all it sounds like it has been a pretty productive season for the boys, but we still have yet to hear from the player who took first at Conference, Matt Hatley. Matt Hatley, Alex Gorman, and Evan Ramsey are the three who will be advancing to sectionals. Matt came in first at conference and says, “This season was pretty good. Personally, I had lots of wins and the team did well as a whole. People really stepped up and tried hard and nobody quit, that’s what really matters.” With such a successful golf season it’s hard to imagine that is now at its end.
