Cross Country
On your mark, get set, go! The Cross Country’s team recently reflected on their fantastic season, looking as a whole the team was able to make their mark and achieve many accomplishments along the way. Coach Kettwich enlightens their success, “Our entire boys’ team qualified to continue on and two of our girls, Hannah Whittom and Mackenzie Dixon will also be moving on. Even with the injuries we had, almost everyone improved their times. I think this season was so easy because everyone got along so well and there was no bickering or fighting because they were all on the same page.” Overcoming harsh competition and injuries was easy when the team both supported and worked well with one another. With such a large group of students on one team it is encouraging that everyone supported each other and had such great chemistry. Nathan Montemayor explains how he saw, “visible improvement from all members.” While Persia Nikpouri a senior and captain of the girl’s details, “It is bittersweet as it being my last cross country season but I am very proud of what we did accomplish. And although it is my last year I am confident that the team will excel in upcoming seasons. I really can’t wait to see what my teammate’s future running careers will turn into!” Looking back on the season we like to congratulate the team on the great accomplishments!
