Currently in the NBA, teams are making trade negotiations. These trades can strongly affect a team therefore a lot goes into making a trade.

One of the biggest trades happened between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks. The Celtics traded Rajon Rondo, their last player that came from their Big Four in the 2007-2008 season. The Celtics acquired two players for the price of Rondo, they added Jameer Nelson and Jae Crowder. They were also given the rights to the Mavericks future first round pick and their 2016 second round pick, and they received a $12.9 million trade exception. The Celtics are hoping to give themselves a fresh start with a new team.

Although the Celtics had the biggest trade, many other trades have been going on as well. Cleveland Cavaliers made a three way trade and traded Dion Waiters to Oklahoma in order to receive J. R. Smith and Iman Shumpert from the Knicks.

The Los Angeles Clippers trades Jared Cunningham, the rights on Cenk Akyol and cash for draft rights of Serhiy Lishchuk.

Jaydon Stewart believes the smartest trade was the Pistons trading Josh Smith to the Rockets. He believes the Mavericks now have the most potential with Rajon Rondo because even on a lower point night Rondo puts up double digits in assists. On the flip side, he believes the Knicks made a bad decision trading Shumpert and Smith for Thunders’ lower level players, he says they could have been smarter on their trade terms.

Glen Gibbons believes the trade that will most affect a team was the New York Knicks trading Dion Waiters for J. R. Smith and Iman Shumpert. He also says the smartest trade was Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks because they were in need of a solid point guard.

Personally, I believe the Celtics trading Rondo was the biggest trade. Rondo is such a strong player that getting rid of him could have been a big mistake. However, I understand them wanted a fresh start since they lost a lot of their strong players within these last few seasons.

Overall, a few big trades were made over the last month, and more changes will be made for these teams in the upcoming draft.
