10 Reasons I Hate Valentine's Day

As we all know the awful holiday known as Valentines Day is coming up. I am one of many people who hate Valentines Day. It is not because I have never had a Valentine; trust, I have had many Valentines. I just don’t understand the point of it. So here is a list on why I hate Valentine’s Day.
It is made up so companies can make money.
Companies want to make more money because in the world we live in big companies are very greedy. I refuse to give big companies my money for not very good chocolates and a bunch of heart shaped balloons.
Why have a Valentine when you have Netflix?
Being an avid Netflix watcher like I am, one comes to find there is nothing more she would rather spend her time with than Netflix.
Since I am a girl do I have to get a guy a gift, if he gets me chocolates?
I never know what to get a guy. Should I spend $200 and get him some Jordans? I just don’t understand what they want, it is just way too confusing.
It makes singles feel bad about being single
Every year on Valentine’s Day single people will be getting upset over not having a Valentine. On Valentines Day singles take to Twitter to rant about how they don’t need love and how they have pizza and Netflix.This is annoying and a reason why I hate Valentine’s Day.
Chocolate has fat and fat makes you gain weight, and no girl wants to gain weight.
This one is just self explanatory.
No one wants those gross heart shaped candy that taste like chalk.
I can't be the only one who thinks that these things are nasty! I just don't get the point. They say cute things like text me or kiss me, well why don't you just do it instead of handing them candy telling them to do it!?!
Flowers. Really, they are going to die in a day anyway I don’t know how to keep them alive.
Flowers are so hard to keep alive. You have to remember to give them sunlight and water and make sure you don't water them too much or they die. But don't get me wrong flowers are great and all, just give me fake ones so I don't have to take care of them.
Shouldn’t you tell the person you love that you love them everyday, not just one day a year.
On this day people are just constantly saying I love you. But shouldn't you let your significant other know that you love them every single day and not just one day a year. It just seems crazy to me to need a day to prove that you love someone.
There is way too much pink and red.
Red used to be my favorite color until Valentine’s Day came along. That's all you see for weeks leading up to Valentines Day. Red and pink hearts everywhere! It is insane how a color can drive you crazy. Valentine's Day needs a new color-like blue or orange.
It is just a pointless day for companies to shove love down our throats.
Valentines Day is just a generic holiday now. It is made up and completely pointless.
Remember in elementary school when you would go out and buy Valentines for your entire class? Well, that was fun. If Valentine’s stayed light and fun like that then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. But media and companies turned it into a huge profit and as you get older your Valentine’s gift giving must be bigger and more expensive. That's the Valentines Day I don't like.
