Potterheads Unite!

Hardcore fans of Harry Potter, dubbed Potterheads, have received answers this week via Twitter to some of the series’ most pressing questions.

For example, in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (the first installment in the multi-billion dollar series) we were introduced to Fluffy the three-headed dog. Unfortunately, we never saw him again. Where did he go!? According to J.K. Rowling, the mastermind behind Harry Potter and the entire Wizarding World, “Dumbledore liked to put Hagrid's more foolish acquisitions back where they belong [in this case, Greece] – not the forest.”

MHS junior Anna Roan says that this made her extremely happy because Fluffy was always one of her favorite magical creatures.

Another pressing question was why the Black family chose to live in a Muggle neighborhood. The Black family was notorious for their general dislike of Muggles (people who lack magical abilities), and since their home was later used as the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix, many readers were confused as to why the house wasn’t just located in a Wizarding neighborhood.

Though J.K. Rowling did not give the most interesting answer, her explanation will have to suffice. “A Black ancestor coveted the beautiful house, so [he] 'persuaded' the Muggle occupant to leave & put the appropriate spells on it,” the author tweeted.

Lastly, it became known by the end of the series that Basilisk venom could destroy Horcruxes. If Harry Potter held the ultimate Horcrux inside of himself, why was he not destroyed when he was bitten by a Basilisk in The Chamber of Secrets?

J.K. Rowling responded, “The Horcrux-receptacle has to be destroyed BEYOND REPAIR, so Harry would need to have DIED.” along with the hashtag #PleaseNeverAskMeThatOneAgain.

There you have it fellow Potterheads! I hope that this answers at least some of the questions you have carried around for all these years.
